The superior variety of Halina- 1 small white ginger originally comes from Wade Area in Sumedang Regency, West Java. The variety that has the accession code ZIOF-0049 and genotype code JPK-G passed from the Variety The productivity of the rhizome is 10.50 tons/ha.

Small white ginger which is a raw material for the traditional herbal medicine, health drinks and foodstuff  has high starch content (43.30%). Moreover, it contains 2.92 % volatile oil, 7.88 % crude fiber, 9.06 % alcohol, and 2.65 % phenol.

Halina- 1 variety is mostly suitable to be developed in areas with latitudes between 300- 800 m above sea level. This variety is proper to be commercialized with a third party. Demands on the seeds for this ginger variety can be obtained at the Stock Seed Production Unit of the Aromatic and Herbal Medicine Research Institute.
