Dr. Ir. Sutrisno

Director, Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resource Research and Development

Dr. Sutrisno got his Bachelor Degree (1976, maj. Crop protection) and Ph.D. (1989, maj. agriculture), both from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, and Post Doctoral on entomology molecular (1994) at Michigan State University, USA.

His career was begun as researcher in Bogor Research Institute for Food Crops. In the year 1999, he was appointed as head of of Molecular Biology Research Group at Research Institutes for Food Crops up to 2000. Then, he was assigned as Country Program Coordinator on Biosafety System (2004) and Focal Point Indonesia for FAO-RAP Project on Capacity Building in Biosafety of GM Crops in Asia since 2003. At this moment, he is the Director of the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research Development.

He has produced some scientific papers and articles and published in various national and international journals. He involved in various seminar and meeting related with integrated pest management, side effect of pesticide, biotechnology, biosafety and foodsafety as well as agricultural genetic resources.
