Hipa 12 SBU Hybrid Rice Varieties
Hipa 12 SBU can be harvested at the age of 105 days. It has upright stem, plant height around 104 cm, and 203 grain pieces per panicle.
This hybrid rice has high yielding potential up to 10,5 t harvested dry grains per ha in dry season and 8,9 t harvested dry grains per ha in rainy season. This yielding potential is higher compared to Ciherang. Hipa 12 SBU is less resistant to brown hopper,rice texture is soft, 23.2 percent of amylose content, glossy white colored grains, and aromatic. Can also be susceptible to HDB and tungro diseases.
The existence of this high-yielding hybrid rice variety is a prospective opportunity to be developed to support the 10 million tons rice surplus program and is prospective to be developed by the national rice seed industries.
