ISICRI is one of the technical implementation unit on spices and industrial crops R&D under the coordination of Indonesian Center for Estate Crops Research and Development (ICECRD). The main function of ISICRI is to carry out :

• research on genetics, plant breeding, seed production of spices and industrial crops.
• research on exploration, conservation, characterization and the utilization of germplasm of spices and industrial crops.
• research on agronomy, morphology, physiology, ecology, entomology and phytopathology of spices and industrial crops.
• research on technology component system of spices and industrial crops agribusiness.
